CCS was appointed to design and install a comprehensive heating and electrical system for Draken’s MRO aircraft hangar at Teesside Airport. For the mechanical fit-out, we installed two 90kW heat pump package systems with chilled water (CW), providing climate control for the large hangar space. The system included manufactured ventilation and a laser-cut fabric sock system for efficient air distribution.
Additionally, CCS handled the electrical distribution board, which powers the HVAC units, ensuring seamless integration of the mechanical and electrical systems. Our team also designed and installed a fire alarm system and access control tailored to the facility’s requirements. Given the size and nature of the building, we utilised beam detection technology, which was connected to the main fire alarm system at Teesside Airport for enhanced safety and compliance.
This project highlights CCS’s ability to deliver both mechanical and electrical solutions in a highly specialised aviation environment.
